I feel pleased to say that Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Maal Department is working with vision, mission and focused strategic priority areas. The Department offers wide variety of services for varied groups of beneficiaries. The service packages have been framed with an expressed intent to provide immediate relief, and afterwards facilitate self-reliance and reintegration of beneficiaries into mainstream. Furthermore, the delivery mechanisms prioritize targeting of the poorest and vulnerable segments of society such as destitute women, children, sick, elderly, disabled, drug addicts and others. It is aiming at quality improvement in services of various institutions and other programs.

The mandate of Social Welfare Department is to uphold a people oriented approach, striving to provide members of the public with a wide range of welfare service. Including services for the impoverished strata that includes disabled and the elderly, rehabilitation and medical social services as well as family and child welfare services. Our welfare services cover a range of preventive, nurturing, supportive and remedial measures. We seek to allocate resources to the neediest to meet their basic needs and help them move from welfare to self-reliance. I sincerely, hope that the public at large, the civil society including NGOs, the welfare sector, and the business community will continue to forge partnerships with the Government in building up a welfare society in true spirit.
